Show classes for:
Acting for Musical Theatre IA

This class open to students in 1st through 3rd grade. It is a great blend of performance and exploration centered around the exciting world of musical theatre.  Students will get to flex their acting and singing muscles all while taking on challenging scenes from some of the most popular and beloved musicals. Solo and ensemble work will be a large component of this class, as well as helping students find a better understanding of musical theatre structure and audition techniques. This a great class for those interested in our Main Stage JR theatre program!

This class open to students in 6th through 8th grade. It is a great blend of performance and exploration centered around the exciting world of musical theatre.  Students will get to flex their acting and singing muscles all while taking on challenging scenes from some of the most popular and beloved musicals. Solo and ensemble work will be a large component of this class, as well as helping students find a better understanding of musical theatre structure and audition techniques. This a great class for those interested in our Main Stage theatre program!  

Acting Improv I

This class is for students in 1st through 5th grade. So much of what we do as performers isn't based on words or choreography but our own instincts. This Improv class helps students learn how to work together, hone their own instincts and provides an amazing outlet for all their energy and imagination. Through guided exercises, students will develop their own 30-minute show that is so new it hasn't been written yet! 

Broadway Dance I

This class is open to students in 1st through 5th grade. Musical theatre uses song and dance to tell stories. Just like the lines actors speak and the lyrics they sing, the dancing is also an extension of the plot. This differentiates Broadway choreography from other forms, making it a unique and exciting part of an actor's repertoire. This class will stretch those movement muscles, helping students communicate character and story through dance. Each student's individual strengths will shine in a showcase at the end of the semester. 

Comedic Acting I

This class is for students in 1st through 5th grade. Students will get a chance to move those funny bones. We will explore different comedy styles and "rules" for the stage and work on scenes which utilize new skills like timing, delivery, joke structure and more. The class will culminate in a showcase that is sure to make you laugh out loud.

Comedic Acting II

This class is for students in 6th through 8th grade. Students will get a chance to move those funny bones. We will explore different comedy styles and "rules" for the stage and work on scenes which utilize new skills like timing, delivery, joke structure and more. The class will culminate in a showcase that is sure to make you laugh out loud.

Main Stage JR Production (Cast A)

This class will solely focus on the Spring semester's Main Stage JR Production and is open to students in 1st through 5th grade. All students in this class are required to enroll in a second acting class as a supplemental component. Students will rehearse and craft the show in a semi-professional atmosphere, while learning the importance of ensemble, responsibility, professionalism, and community as it relates to all areas of theatre.  Students are required to attend all rehearsals including tech week and shows.  Students and parents will sign a contract committing fully to the class once casting is set.  Please note this class meets twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00pm. **Director's approval needed prior to registering for this program.**

Main Stage JR Production (Cast B)

This class will solely focus on the Spring semester's Main Stage JR Production and is open to students in 1st through 5th grade. All students in this class are required to enroll in a second acting class as a supplemental component. Students will rehearse and craft the show in a semi-professional atmosphere, while learning the importance of ensemble, responsibility, professionalism, and community as it relates to all areas of theatre.  Students are required to attend all rehearsals including tech week and shows.  Students and parents will sign a contract committing fully to the class once casting is set.  Please note this class meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5:30pm. **Director's approval needed prior to registering for this program.**

This class will solely focus on the Spring semester's Main Stage Production and is open to students in 6th through 8th grade. All students in this class are required to enroll in a second acting class as a supplemental component. Students will rehearse and craft the show in a semi-professional atmosphere, while learning the importance of ensemble, responsibility, professionalism, and community as it relates to all areas of theatre. Students are required to attend all rehearsals including tech week and shows. Students and parents will sign a contract committing fully to the class once casting is set. Please note this class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:00-6:15pm, and select Fridays 5:00-6:00pm for small group rehearsals. **Director's approval needed prior to registering for this program.**

Performance Vocals I

This performance-based vocals class is open to students in 1st through 3rd grade that love to SING for an audience! All levels of experience welcome.  This class will allow students the opportunity to learn and perform popular songs, ranging from Top 40 hits, yesterday's favorites and beyond. With a challenging mix of choreography and singing, students will work to create a pop vocal ensemble that is ready for the stage! These students have the opportunity to perform in the community in February and April.

With a challenging mix of choreography and singing, students will work to create a pop vocal ensemble that is ready for the stage! These students have the opportunity to perform in our local community in February and April.

Playwriting I

This class is open to all students in 1st through 5th grade. Our Playwriting class will focus on creating original plays. Students will focus on storytelling, play structure, character creation and more. Lessons will be fun and exciting with plenty of opportunities for creative expression. By the end of the semester, students will have written an original ten-minute play. These plays will be performed in a stage reading at our Annual Play Festival in Spring 2026.

Puppetry I

This class is open to all students in 1st through 5th grade. Discover a whole new form of performance. From the Muppets to the larger-than-life creatures in Broadway's The Lion King, puppetry is an art form which adds unique magic to the stage and screen. We use puppets in many of our Main Stage productions and now students get a chance to experience these skills up close. This class will include puppet building and design, performance techniques, and lessons on the history and forms of puppetry in the arts. It is a one-of-a-kind class that is sure to inspire creativity and fun!

Technical Theatre I

This class is open to students in 1st through 5th grade. This class will focus on the off-stage aspects of theatre production. Students will learn about the numerous roles required to create theatre magic, including design and backstage management. Students will gain skills in set design, stage management, and running crew. The class will culminate in a presentation of the students' strongest designs and skills.
